fake[dac~]

fake[dac~] is named after the digital to analog converter object within pure data so its pronounced: "fakedack".

fake[dac~] events showcase audio visual performers and DJ's performing along side VJ's (visual artists), live coders from the algorave movement and fully immersive installations.

There has been a focus on algorithmic or procedurally generated content using real time software or commercial tools but fake[dac~] remains agnostic to technology.

fake[dac~] hackspace : netpd party

netpd is a CRNMME (Collaborative Realtime Networked Music Making Environment) built in pure data. It allows many users to have a realtime jam sessions with each other, connected over the internet. Users might contribute their own netpd-ized patches a.k.a. instruments or use pre-existing ones. The set of instruments, as well as the state of each instrument is synchronized between clients in order to provide identical experience for every connected user.

The next fake[dac~] hackspace will co-incide with the weekly netpd jam at 9pm GMT. Bring your laptop and get help installing and using netpd. This hackspace is not limited to netpd activity and all forms of networking or discussion are welcome. Arrive at 8pm and introduce yourself to everyone, you might want to try and get netpd installed before arriving or load up anything you would like to share to the group.
